S: How and when did you start collecting?
EJ: My wife bought me my first collectible piece 6 years ago, it was a Darth Maul Kotobukiya figure, afterward we visited comic stores and events buying one or two small matching pieces a year. I got my first Prime 1 from a fellow collector in 2017, and fell down the rabbit hole hard after that.
S: What do you collect? Does your collection have a theme, such as Star Wars, Batman, superheroes, etc.?
EJ: Star wars, DC's death of superman is an inspiration I would like to build around, and the occasional Marvel character.
S: What are your favourite or the most prized pieces in your collection? And why?
EJ: My most prized piece is my Darth Maul my wife got me, this started it for us. My favourite piece is hands down my Black Suit Superman from P1.
S: What items are on your wishlist?
EJ: I would love to own the Doomsday 1/3 from Prime 1 one day.
S: What do you love about XM Studios?
EJ: Low ES, attention to detail, and the wide variety of characters they take on. My favourite XM piece is the white Magneto, just setting it up alone is evidence of the engineering brilliance of XM studios.
S: What do you think of the collecting community in SA?
EJ: It has its ups and downs, unfortunately some people still get scammed within the hobby and it's hard to know who to trust. That being said, I have also made some great friends in this hobby, who guided me into customs, proper display setups and so much more. It is definitely much better than it was a few years back.
