S: How and when did you start collecting?       

JvZ: I started collecting back in 2005, comics and Macfarlane action figures then graduated in 2015 to statues and really picked up in Dec 2016. I currently have more than 48 pieces in my collection.

 

S: What do you collect? Does your collection have a theme, such as Star Wars, Batman, Marvel superheroes, Manga etc.?  

JvZ: Marvel, Star wars, nostalgic 80’s, Sideshow Court of the Dead. Hulk and Silver Surfer focused mainly. I’m concentrating on rare low edition sized ¼ statues now.

 

S: What are your favourite or the most prized pieces in your collection? And why?   

JvZ: Bushi Silver Surfer and legendary scale Dr Doom - both have amazing detail and have serious room presence, I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

 

S: What do you love about XM?         

JvZ: The detail and exclusivity, the low ES (Edition Size) and amazing customer service.   

 

S: What items are on your wishlist?  

JvZ: XM Terminator License, a new Bushi Surfer, tons of custom Hulks and there are way too many to mention.   

 

S: What do you think of the collecting community in SA?

JvZ: Growing daily. There aren’t a lot of collectors compared to the overseas markets but new collectors join the ranks every day.
